Citrus aurantium(bitter) Citrus sinensis (sweet)-extracted by cold expression from the outer peel of the almost ripe fruit. Sweet orange is the same as the eating fruit. The sweet is used in the food and drink industry. The leaves of the bitter produce PETITGRAIN and the flowers produce NEROLI. The uses of both varieties are similar. Both are used extensively as flavorings in pharmaceuticals, as fragrance in soaps, detergents, cosmetics, colognes.
