Melissa officianalis-extracted by distillation of the leaves and flowering tops. The fragrance is fresh, lemony. Blends well with LAVENDER, GERANIUM, MYRTLE, FLORALS AND CITRUS. Native to the Mediterranean region. Now common almost everywhere. Grows like a mint, spreads profusely. The oil is rare and expensive because 7 ½ tons of plant material is needed for 1 pound of oil.
CAUTIONS: Generally considered non-toxic, non-irritating. No testing for sensitization. Dilute well for topical use.
