Every individual on this planet craves for nice and healthy hair. And to get what you want you have to work a little. I can assure you that if a person wants a nice and strong hair than the first step towards it is to have a perfect diet plan now I can’t make a diet plan for because I don’t know what you like but what I can do is give some choices of food to include in your diet so that you can make a diet plan appropriate for you and hence have a nice and healthy hair. Here are some products I recommend that you should include in your diet chart.

  1. Carrots
    Carrots are mainly known for improving your vision but it also helps to increase your hair condition due to presence of vitamin A in it.
  2. Dark green leafy vegetables
    Include dark green leafy vegetables in your diet as much as you can because these vegetable contains vitamin A and vitamin C. It helps to moisturise your hair which is good because it helps the quality of your hair.

Dairy products

Dairy products like milk and yogurt contain calcium and proteins which are important for hair growth as protein is the building block of hair.


Poultry is known for its high quality protein which is necessary if you want healthy hair. Lack of protein may lead to hair weakness or it may even cause hair fall.


Egg is one element which you can use anyway for eating or for massage on your scalp. For eating egg you can eat it anyway you want fried, scrambled etc. It provides you with appropriate amount of proteins, vitamin B and biotin. It makes your hair healthy and lustrous.

Whole Grains

Whole grains are rich in zinc, iron and vitamin B. You may found whole grain in wheat bread, brown rice, breakfast cereals etc. It is also a good digestion aid and prevents ailments like diabetes, obesity and constipation.


Dr. Sandeep Suttar – Hair Restoration and Skin Rejuvenation surgeon at HairRevive, Mumbai, says: “If you don’t have cholesterol problems, then you must consume this meat at least twice a day. This food has all the possible nutrients that your hair needs for its up keep. The presence of protein, vitamin B, iron, zinc and other vital minerals will help to maintain the health of your scalp and hair.” Lastly, Dr. Sandeep says, “Though it is rich in nutrients, the consumption of beef should be minimum to avoid other health problems.”


Salmon is widely known for its omega-3 fatty acids, high quality protein, vitamin B-12 and iron all the nutrients that are essential for healthy hair. One can obtain all these nutrients from meat too except omega-3. For vegetarian however I recommend 2 tbsp of ground flaxseed daily which will provide enough omega-3.


Oyster is another option to get zinc which is an antioxidant that promotes healthy hair. The food other than oyster that contain zinc are whole grains, nuts, beef and lamb.

Green tea

Green tea is known for healthy scalp. If a person drink Green tea daily than that person have a healthy scalp and it also prevents dandruff.


Nuts are rich in vitamin and minerals which are essential for hair growth. Walnuts are highly recommended in nuts. It also prevents hair fall and strengthen your hair.


Your diet should contain legumes like kidney beans and other lentils. They are rich in all the nutrients that promote hair growth.

If you select wisely from the above products and develop a diet which contains all the nutrients essential for the growth and nourishment of hair than you’ll get the results as expected.
