It is absolutely safe to undergo Lasik eye surgery procedure. People have lot of doubts whether to go ahead with this or not but it’s really worth. Many working professionals underwent Lasik eye surgery procedure with ease.

As far as I was advised, it can be useful if the short sight limit is within -1 to -6.Apart from this limit, Lasik will be of no use.

Most importantly, there is an initial test you have to undergo and If the result says NO then you should not undergo Lasik eye surgery procedure at all.

Basically there are 2 categories in this:

1. LASIK:

Doctors suggest this if the Cornea is considerably thick. In this process, the middle flap will be cut from Cornea and the upper layer will be replaced again. It takes nearly one week to get the perfect vision. Get the surgery done on Friday and you can still attend the office on Monday.

2. Epi LASIK:

This is suggested if the Cornea is thin.

In this process the extra upper layer will be chopped off using Laser and a contact lens will be placed initially(for 3-4 days) for the tissue to get developed. After Epi Lasik eye surgery procedure, you may feel discomfort for the initial 7-10 days and you need to wear the black goggles(even to see the Monitor). It takes nearly one month to get the perfect vision.

Epi LASIK is good for long run and also it has some distinct advantages over Lasik eye surgery procedure as there's no risk of the flap being dislodged.
