- Reducing belly
Worrying about the fat belly you are carrying and tired of using the crunches. Now here’s a list of activities which are a lot more fun and enjoyable. There are people who said that they have seen good results when they did something different than just the regular exercises. For example, gardening, playing tennis and dancing too can help you reduce the stomach.
Here are few tips from us which can help you in reducing the unwanted fat near your belly.
Stress is the spice of life. But too much of it is too bad. Stress increases levels of cortisol, a hormone that seems to direct fat to our middle, says Jacob Seidell, PhD, of the National Institute of Public Health in Bilthoven, Netherlands. This cortisol accumulates at the middle part of the body giving you potbelly. If you feel stressful then try to look out for a calm and quiet place to sit. Take a deep and slow breathe to clear your mind. While breathing try to count any number if you lose focus then bring back the focus and start counting again. Practice this for 5 -10 minutes in a day and you will definitely see results.
Avoid alcohol consumption. That glass of wine along with the dinner is another reason for a fat belly. Alcohol also tends to raise the cortisol level making it accumulate near your belly. Dr. Seidell says.
Quit smoking. People who smoke has a misconception that it makes them thin. In fact it's the other way round. People who smoke have more abdominal fat than the nonsmokers, says Dr. Seidell. Cortisol seems to be the reason once again. "When people stop smoking, the amount of abdominal fat actually decreases," he says.
Eat lots and lots of fiber. Fiber is not only good for overall weight loss but it also prevents constipation, which may cause your stomach to bulge, says Lawrence J. Cheskin, MD, a gastroenterologist and director of the Johns Hopkins Weight Management Center in Baltimore. Try to eat more and more of fibers like whole grains, fruits and vegetables. You can also try supplements such as Metamucil.
Drink lots of water. Water helps in preventing the premenstrual bloating. This will actually help flush away bloating and not make it worse.
Keep your bones strong. Osteoporosis can lead to fractured bones in your spine, causing you to bend. That shortens your abdominal cavity, giving your belly no place to go but out, says Willibald Nagler, MD, physiatrist in chief emeritus at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in New York City. If you are over age 50 then 1200 mg of calcium everyday is a must to have, if you are under 50 then 1000 mg of calcium must be consumed. If you do not get this amount of calcium through the food you take then try taking supplements.
Work on your heart rate. It's very important to get rid of the excess fat covering the abdominal muscles and the best way is to do aerobics for at least 45 to 60 minutes.
Tuck the tummy inside. Jeanette Friedman, 54, of Austin, TX, suggests imagining there's a "magnet pulling your belly button back toward your spine. Practice the tuck until it becomes comfortable, and soon it will come naturally--like breathing," she says. "Do it every chance you get. That's how habits start."
Lift the weights. Try to do weight workouts once in a week. You can reduce the excessive fat over the abs.
Stand as much as possible while doing the weight exercise. That way your abs work too and they help to keep balance and stability in your body.
Watch the calorie intake along with exercise would do wonders ,,make sure how many calories do u need according to your daily activity and your height .This will not only reduce your weight all over but will stay for ever..this helped me .
Thanks

Very well written and great tips. I also think that taking vitamins is a great way to balance a diet and eventually help reduce that belly.
nice tips, but it is not so easy to loose weight .It really requires great discipline and Hard work
Here is how I have maintained weight loss over five yeas:
Commit to making a slow and steady lifestyle change, not going on a crazy diet and then reverting back to old ways.
Avoid deep fried foods
Have a salad or veg. side dish with every lunch and dinner (not covered with cream or butter)
Avoid “healthy” foods that are not healthy at all like caesar salad, which has more calories than a big mac.
Really find out what food is healthy and what is not. A lot or products try to trick people by sounding healthy like “Sun Chips.”
Have set meal and snack times to avoid eating out of habit
When I want a treat, I have low fat ice cream instead of cookies or cake. So called low fat cookies and cake are really bad because they can be high in calories and sugar.
Don’t keep temptations in the house! If I have to have it, I buy a single size portion.
Good luck. It’s easier than you think.
